Ergo Collective's Work Policy

At Ergo Collective, we value the time, skills, and dedication that every individual voluntarily brings to our projects. We understand that our success relies on the collective efforts and commitments of each team member, and we strive to create a supportive and collaborative environment where everyone can thrive.

Voluntary Participation:

We recognize that all work at Ergo is voluntary, and we greatly appreciate the contributions of our team members. We will never ask for more time than what you have promised to dedicate to the project. However, we kindly request that you assess your availability and commitment realistically to ensure a smooth workflow and maintain the project's momentum.

Communication:

Open and timely communication is the foundation of our work policy. We expect team members to actively communicate any changes in their availability, potential obstacles, or unforeseen circumstances that may impact their ability to complete assigned tasks. By keeping the team informed well in advance, we can make necessary adjustments and accommodate your needs while respecting everyone's time and effort.

Accommodations:

We understand that life can present challenges, and we are committed to being empathetic and accommodating whenever possible. If you encounter any difficulties or require assistance in managing your workload, please don't hesitate to reach out to the project leads or the team. We will work with you to find solutions and make reasonable accommodations to support your continued participation in the project.

Deadlines and Accountability:

While we maintain a flexible approach, meeting mutually agreed-upon deadlines is crucial for the project's progress. If you anticipate any issues in completing tasks within the designated timeline, please communicate this to the team as soon as possible. If tasks are not completed and no communication is provided, even after a reasonable extension, the delay will be formally noted in our meetings to foster accountability and identify areas for improvement.

Meetings and Participation:

Weekly meetings ( currently scheduled on Friday ) are an essential part of our collaborative process thereby mandatory, and we encourage all team members to actively participate. If you are unable to attend a meeting, please communicate your absence in advance. Consistently missing meetings without prior communication may lead to a review of your participation in the project.

Termination Policy:

In the rare event of recurring delays, non-communication, or non-participation despite multiple attempts to address the issues, we will consider terminating an individual's affiliation with the project. This decision will be made through a transparent and fair process, which includes:

1. Discussing your formally noted delays ( once they’ve numbered three or more ) during the fourth week meeting of the month.

2. Providing the individual with an opportunity to present their case and discuss any challenges they are facing.

3. Offering a safe space for individual confidential discussions with a designated team member (Dania Nayyar) to explore accommodations or alternative arrangements.

4. Conducting an anonymous voting process among the quorum of the weekly general meeting where the termination discussion has been tabled.

Support and Resources:

We are committed to providing our team members with the support and resources they need to succeed. If you have any concerns, suggestions, or needs assistance, please reach out to the project leads or the team. We value your feedback and are always open to finding ways to improve our collaborative process. By fostering a culture of open communication, accountability, and mutual respect, we believe that we can create an environment where everyone can contribute meaningfully to our projects while balancing their personal commitments. Together, we can achieve great things and make a positive impact through our work at Ergo Collective.
